In October 2003 I visited the Yorkshire Dales for the first time. I'd been to the Lake District,
which is quite close by, many times so was keen to see how these 2 famously scenic regions of the country
compared.
The main attractions in the area for walkers are the Three Peaks - Whernside, Pen-y-Ghent and Ingleborough.
They are close enough togeither to all be tackled in one day, but we dicided to take it a little easier and do 2
on the first day and save the third for the second day!
The photos below are only of the first day when we climbed Ingleborough and then Whernside, on the second
day I took my 35mm SLR camera not my digital. The scenery here is less pretty than the Lake District, but still
beautiful in a rugged and barren type of way. The peaks are separated by large areas of moors and some impressive
limestone pavement.
